FIBE-CDT Industry+ student Ioanna Papanikolaou shortlisted for Best Young Woman in Construction Award.

Ioanna Papanikolaou, FIBE CDT I+ student currently undertaking her I+ year with industry partner Costain, has been shortlisted for the Best Young Woman in Construction Award at the European Women in Construction and Engineering Awards (WICE). The WICE awards have been designed to find the most exemplary women within construction and engineering across Europe. Ioanna is currently Site Engineer on the Thames Tideway Tunnel and has also worked on variety of infrastructure projects, gaining experience in highways and tunnelling. Ioanna’s continuous passion for high performance has been recognised by Costain, who are supporting her for the I+ scheme in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment. Graduating from the University of Surrey with a First Class MEng Civil Engineering degree, she then joined the I+ scheme at the University of Cambridge that enables her to gain industrial experience as part of her studies. During her I+ year she is working at Thames Tideway Tunnel, a £4.2bn project that aims to improve the Thames ecosystem, and will be starting her MRes degree in October 2016.
