FIXED-TERM LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER

AND COURSE DIRECTOR

 

Salary range £37,756-£47,787 or £50,688-£53,765

The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment, offering 50 fully-funded PhD studentships, aims to develop world-class, technically excellent, multi-disciplinary Engineers equipped to face current and future infrastructure and built environment challenges to address societal needs and aspirations.

Applications are now invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Fixed-Term Lecturer/Senior Lecturer and the successful candidate will be the Centre’s Course Director. The Course Director will be responsible for the planning, development, delivery and management of all aspects of the MRes degree course, offered from October 2014, and oversee the training elements during the subsequent three year PhD study. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake both teaching and research in addition to the primary responsibilities relating to the Course activities. It is hoped that the successful candidate will take up the appointment on 1 April 2014 or as soon as possible after that date. The post is available for 5 years in the first instance and is based in central Cambridge.

The successful candidate would be expected to have a relevant PhD and ideally have spent a number of years in industry with technical and managerial experience. Some teaching experience in civil engineering would be advantageous and high level IT skills are desirable.
